Leman Russ - A Comission Project part 2. Project completeSo, Hi, Hello,<br />
<br />
It has been forever, and I can only apologies for that.<br />
<br />
In short, 8th edition has killed my hobby drive for 40k.<br />
And for the most part, that used to make up a large portion of my hobby in geneal <br />
<br />
I haven't been inactive hobby wise though, just primarily doing
non-40k things like Age of Sigmar, Bloodbowl and so on (Check out my
Instagram)<br />
However, I did tease the Leman Russ Commission I'd been working on.<br />
<br />
<br />
The good news is that I finished that a while back and the client was very happy.<br />
<br />
The better news is that it won my local gaming clubs 'best single miniature' & ;'best in show' award.<br />
The <b>BEST</b> news is that it also managed to snag me a
finalist pin at this years Golden Daemon/ Warhammer Fest in the 40k
single miniature category!<br />
<br />
Well pleased with that.<br />
Here are the photo's of the final thing for you!<br />
<br />

<br />
<br />
Considering this is my first entry into Golden Demon I will take that!<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
I'll try and update this thread as/ when I have to show off... but do
expect it to be very slow going forward (unless there are some Demons I
can shoe horn in here XD)<br />

Bloodbowl part 15/ A Tale of Many Hobbyists part 1.2<span style="font-size: large;"></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">So, my Orks are done!! <br /></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Well, almost... the basses need finishing, and I need to add their numbers, but as they'll be the same colours for the Human team, I'll just do them all in 1 go.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">I'll hopefully post a picture when that happens.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>

<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">The group shot is a bit terrible.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">I need to seriously invest in upping my photography game (lights, lightbox, camera... everything)</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">Managed to snap some better individual shots though.</span><br />

<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">I wont call this project complete until I've added those last detail, but for now, it's on to the human team<br /></span><br />

Teaser: Leman Russ - A comission project. <span style="font-size: large;">So a substantial time ago I was commissioned to paint the Primarch of the Space Wolves, Leman Russ.<br /><br />
I finally finished him a few weeks ago, so I'm going to photograph him,
however, I thought I'd show you a little teaser to whet your appetite.<br /><br /><br /><span rel="lightbox"><img alt="med_gallery_33843_14296_21161.jpg" class="bbc_img" src="http://image.bolterandchainsword.com/uploads/gallery/album_14296/med_gallery_33843_14296_21161.jpg" /></span><br /><br /><span rel="lightbox"><img alt="med_gallery_33843_14296_4521.jpg" class="bbc_img" src="http://image.bolterandchainsword.com/uploads/gallery/album_14296/med_gallery_33843_14296_4521.jpg" /></span><br /><br /><span rel="lightbox"><img alt="med_gallery_33843_14296_32297.jpg" class="bbc_img" src="http://image.bolterandchainsword.com/uploads/gallery/album_14296/med_gallery_33843_14296_32297.jpg" /></span><br /><br />

A Tale of Many Hobbyists. Part 1.<span style="font-size: large;">In case I haven't mentioned this before, I run a Hobby Club called West Midlands Wizards based in, shockingly, the West Midlands.<br />
<br />
<br />
I'm in charge of events for the club (either running them, or coordinating) and one of the events I've set up is 'A Tale of Many Hobbyists.'<br />
<br />
In case you haven't heard of this kind of event, it is something Games Workshop used to do in White Dwarf (I think they still do occasionally), where several Hobbyists, get together, set a target, and work towards an end goal.<br />
This used ot take the form of 'A Tale of Many Gamers,' with players growing their force each month, and taking part of a linked campaign.<br />
<br />
While I'd love to run this, the pace is slightly relentless, and in addition, not everyone in the club games or collects large projects.<br />
So I decided to run 'A Tale of Many Hobbyists.'<br />
<br />
The year is split in to 4 separate parts, and at each intersection, participants set up a hobby goal to work towards.<br />
At the end of the year, we'll all have made some awesome progress... and conveniently, completely (hopefully) a specific project in time for another event I've set up, 'Project of the Year (which is something we can talk about later).<br />
<br />
I digress.<br />
<br />
My hobby goal for the first 3 months is to get some of my long standing projects completed.<br />

Solaris Reaper Primaris Space Marine.<span style="font-size: large;">So, I haven't posted here for a good long time.<br />
If I go into detail, it will be over at <a href="http://darkhazzl3.blogspot.co.uk/">The Science of Selling Yourself Short <br />
</a>In terms of the hobby I've been all over the place.<br />
<br />
First off I've been running a gaming club for the last 6-ish months. It has taken a lot of my focus, and to make up for it, I'll p[probably post the content I've made for it on here (once it's concluded)<br />
<br />
Second, I've invested a lot of time on a commission paint job I took on quite some time ago. <br />
Despite being told I have no reason to rush, or feel pressured, I couldn't help but put pressure on myself.<br />
This has meant that, not only have I not finished the commission itself, but also, I've felt guilty working on anything of my own... to the point I've been super inspired and excited to do a thing, but haven't allowed myself to do it.<br />
<br />
Third, I've taken a big break from 40k.<br />
I have mentioned this previously, but I'm not totally sold on the new 40k.<br />
It's been several months, I've played a good few games and read a good amount of the material, and I just don't much care for it.<br />
It lacks flavour, it lacks theme based mechanics (which is the draw of a game like 40k) and it lacks finesse.<br />
<br />
I think I'm going to stick to AOS for gaming for the foreseeable future (unless a few of us want play some previous editions/ 30K)<br />
<br />
<br />
That being said, I obviously still love the theme, the flavour and the miniatures.<br />
<br />
So on that note, I have a thing to show you.<br />
<br />
Recently, a member of the club I help run has just finished running a painting competition on his Instagram.<br />
<br />
The challenge was to paint a Space Marine in his homebrew chapters colour scheme.<br />
As I need a bit of a kick up the ass to make any progress.<br />
<br />
<br />
Here you go:<br />
<br />
</span><br />
<center>
<span style="font-size: large;"><span rel="lightbox"><img alt="med_gallery_33843_6479_22514.jpg" class="bbc_img" src="http://image.bolterandchainsword.com/uploads/gallery/album_6479/med_gallery_33843_6479_22514.jpg" /></span><br />
</span></center>
<br />
<center>
<span style="font-size: large;"><span rel="lightbox"><img alt="med_gallery_33843_6479_50047.jpg" class="bbc_img" src="http://image.bolterandchainsword.com/uploads/gallery/album_6479/med_gallery_33843_6479_50047.jpg" /></span><br />
</span></center>
<br />
<center>
<span style="font-size: large;"><span rel="lightbox"><img alt="med_gallery_33843_6479_38116.jpg" class="bbc_img" src="http://image.bolterandchainsword.com/uploads/gallery/album_6479/med_gallery_33843_6479_38116.jpg" /></span><br />
</span></center>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br />
<br />
I think the whole thing took me about 8 hours, and reminded me of how much I hate painting white.<br />
<br />
Anyway, hopefully I'll start getting back into some 40k stuff, and my hobby in general.<br />
<br />
Until then <br />

Bolt of Tzeentch - Tzeetch Sorcerer, Hall of Honour. Tzeentch Disciples part 11.<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">My Tzeentch Sorcerer enters into my 'Hall of Honour.'</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">It is finally finished...</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>

<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">The picture isn't of the best quality, and the face isn't the best either (but then, I think that's at least a little down to the sculpt).</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">That's two models finished!</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">I think that's a record for any of my armies to be fair!</span><br />

Boon of Mutation. Tzeetch Disciples part 10. <span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">While doing the shields I also did some work on the Warriros...</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Usually I'm not a huge fan of mutations on models, but I felt that some well placed, thematic/ relevant mutations here and there would really sell the Tzeentch and CHaos theme of the Warriors, who are a little too 'clean' usually.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">Speaking of, the 5 'clean' Warriors.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;"><a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/132801835@N05/32796999760/in/album-72157678179472531/" title="064"><img alt="064" height="480" src="https://farm3.staticflickr.com/2811/32796999760_221f14e777_z.jpg" width="640" /></a></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">Just a little Green Stuff work to fill in the mold lines on the fur.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">The next 5 were my 'front rank.'</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Back in the old Warhammer Fantasy Days, the front 5 models usually formed the first rank and therefore had to be slightly better looking XD</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;"><a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/132801835@N05/32796998500/in/album-72157678179472531/" title="065"><img alt="065" height="480" src="https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3912/32796998500_f49832cbcb_z.jpg" width="640" /></a></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">This was a simple kitbash; I took a bit from the 40K possessed Chaos Space Marines to replace his combat weapon.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">The next was also a quick kitbash, taking the head from the Chaos Spawn kit</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;"><a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/132801835@N05/32796999110/in/album-72157678179472531/" title="066"><img alt="066" height="480" src="https://farm3.staticflickr.com/2950/32796999110_414c6e1fa0_z.jpg" width="640" /></a></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">As for my 'Command,' I have a musician; using the head from the old metal Chaos Space Marine Lord model...</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;"><a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/132801835@N05/32796998970/in/album-72157678179472531/" title="067"><img alt="067" height="480" src="https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3789/32796998970_ec2136b654_z.jpg" width="640" /></a></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">The squad leader/ vertan/ sergant/ champion</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;"><a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/132801835@N05/32796998790/in/album-72157678179472531/" title="068"><img alt="068" height="480" src="https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3787/32796998790_e7f7e2ee25_z.jpg" width="640" /></a></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">And finally my personal favortie, the banner bearer.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;"><a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/132801835@N05/32796998630/in/album-72157678179472531/" title="069"><img alt="069" height="480" src="https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3892/32796998630_88aa80c75e_z.jpg" width="640" /></a></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;"><a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/132801835@N05/32796998370/in/album-72157678179472531/" title="070"><img alt="070" height="480" src="https://farm1.staticflickr.com/634/32796998370_38d6d5732a_z.jpg" width="640" /></a></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">For this guy I sculpted my own tentacle arm to hold the banner pole.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">This was done by using my usual Green Stuff Mix and using the rolling tool made by Green Stuff World.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">And that's the whole unit built.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;"><a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/132801835@N05/32796999230/in/album-72157678179472531/" title="062"><img alt="062" height="480" src="https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3839/32796999230_56f0109312_z.jpg" width="640" /></a></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">Left the shield and banner off for painting (like that'll happen)</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">And with that, my 1000 pts Aos army is fully built.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Since building it, I've changed a few of the spells and items round, but I'm fairly happy with the list.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">It is really fun to play with, and I'd like to think it represents the narrative I've set for the army quite well.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Though, I do plan on going back to it at some point and having a tinker around here and there, see if I can't make it a bit more fitting.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">But that's all for now.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Remember, if you want to see what I'm currently working on, I'm much more active on <a href="https://www.instagram.com/darkhazzl3/">Instagram</a>, and I stream painting sessions on my <a href="https://www.twitch.tv/darkhazzl3">Twitch</a>, so click those links for more stuff!</span><br />

Mystic Shield. Tzeentch Disciples part 9.<span style="font-size: large;">Yeah, more form the 'catching up with stuff I've already finished' set of pictures</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">I got round to 'Tzeetchifying' all of my Warriors of Chaos.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">One of the ways I wanted to do this was by adding some Tzeentch iconography to the models.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">The easiest way I could think of was to convert the shields.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">I'd seen the awesome Tzeetch Shields from Silver Tower and decided to nab some stuff from that.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">I used some blue stuff to make some press molds...</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;"><a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/132801835@N05/33051453451/in/album-72157678179472531/" title="057"><img alt="057" height="640" src="https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3693/33051453451_5fef86430b_z.jpg" width="480" /></a></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">... and then just 'printed' some shield details</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;"><a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/132801835@N05/33051452901/in/album-72157678179472531/" title="058"><img alt="058" height="640" src="https://farm1.staticflickr.com/608/33051452901_90a0ec732a_z.jpg" width="480" /></a></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">A little bit of chain to give it a more traditional warriors of Chaos aesthetic.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;"><a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/132801835@N05/33051452681/in/album-72157678179472531/" title="059"><img alt="059" height="480" src="https://farm1.staticflickr.com/571/33051452681_2fcd82644a_z.jpg" width="640" /></a></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">And the shields are all done!</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;"><a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/132801835@N05/32796999520/in/album-72157678179472531/" title="063"><img alt="063" height="480" src="https://farm3.staticflickr.com/2857/32796999520_926a37a231_z.jpg" width="640" /></a></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">On to the actual Warriors!</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>

Lore of Fate. Tzeentch Disciples part 8.<span style="font-size: large;">So apparently I've had a god chunk of photos uploaded for a while of stuff I'd been working on.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">I'm going to work through them in the next few weeks to bring you up to speed!</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">So you may remember I was working through my <a href="http://theunderhivehero.blogspot.co.uk/2017/02/122-silver-ruin-tzeentch-disciples-part.html">Age of Sigmar Tzeentch Army; making custom basses and such.</a></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">Well, I've done a considerable amount of work on them over the course of a few months.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">Here is a bit of a work in progress shot of one of my Chaos Tzeentch Sorcerers.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;"><a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/132801835@N05/33051432791/in/album-72157678179472531/" title="056"><img alt="056" height="640" src="https://farm1.staticflickr.com/709/33051432791_3968213045_z.jpg" width="480" /></a></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">I've continued the 'nebula' esq theme I did on the tester model on this guy too... </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">I kinda want all of the army to this aesthetic in one way or another.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>

<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">I've also borrowed very heavily from the old school thousand son aesthetic of blue and gold.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">I think it blends in wlel with the Silver Tower theme and the nebula scheme.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">I have actually finished this guy.</span><br />

Testing Terryn. Imperial Knight part 4.<span style="font-size: large;">As always, let's start this off with...<br />I KNOW I'VE BEEN AWAY A WHILE<br /><br />Sorry folks, I've just been not great at stuff.<br />I'm trying to get back into things, so stay tuned to my various outlets for more info.<br /><br />On to hobby talk.<br /><br />So, the new 40k came out...<br /><br />
I'm not totally sold yet.<br />
Mechanically I can deal, however, it currently lacks flavor.<br />
This is something I think the new Codex books will add in, and when they do, I'll be back in it.<br /><br />
But until then, I think I'm mainly gonna play AOS, Bloodbowl and other stuff.<br />
To that end I've mainly been doing some AOS painting.<br /><br />If you follow me on <a href="https://www.instagram.com/darkhazzl3/">Instagram</a> you've probably already seen a lot of this, but I'm posting here because I probably should have done that to start with.<br /><br /><br />So, the first thing back here will be the earliest painted thing I guess<br /><br /><br />The Imperial Knight .<br /><br /><br />
I finally decided on a scheme ( I think XD )<br />
I'm going for house Terryn, but with a significantly higher contrasting
colours; more depth, gradients and richer colours all around.<br /><br /><br />
This is my tester shoulder pad (I for some reason ad one spare)<br /><br /><span rel="lightbox"><img alt="med_gallery_33843_7958_81312.jpg" class="bbc_img" src="http://image.bolterandchainsword.com/uploads/gallery/album_7958/med_gallery_33843_7958_81312.jpg" /></span><br /><br /><br />
I'm also not a big fan of the Terryan transfers.<br />
I know there is a third party resin pad available, but it just doesn't
quite look right to me, so I decided to have a 'quick' go at free
handing the iconography.<br /><br /><br /><span rel="lightbox"><img alt="med_gallery_33843_7958_149750.jpg" class="bbc_img" src="http://image.bolterandchainsword.com/uploads/gallery/album_7958/med_gallery_33843_7958_149750.jpg" /></span><br /><br /><br /><span rel="lightbox"><img alt="med_gallery_33843_7958_99495.jpg" class="bbc_img" src="http://image.bolterandchainsword.com/uploads/gallery/album_7958/med_gallery_33843_7958_99495.jpg" /></span><br /><br /><br /><br /><span rel="lightbox"><img alt="med_gallery_33843_7958_56984.jpg" class="bbc_img" src="http://image.bolterandchainsword.com/uploads/gallery/album_7958/med_gallery_33843_7958_56984.jpg" /></span><br /><br />
I know the eagle isn't quite right, and the Diamonds are also placed
slightly weirdly, but then, this is why we do tester models, right?<br /><br />That's all for now.<br /><br />40k updates may be less frequent, but I've got a chunk of other stuff to throw up here, so stay tuned Underhivers!<br /><br /><br />

Screaming fire. Tzeentch Disciples part 7.<span style="font-size: large;">There be daemons.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">Screamers and Flamers to be precise (as well as a sneaky Gorebeast chariot later on)</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<br />
<center>
<span style="font-size: large;"><a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/132801835@N05/32796849020/in/album-72157678179472531/" title="040"><img alt="040" height="480" src="https://c1.staticflickr.com/3/2824/32796849020_e5b7e68e4e_z.jpg" width="640" /></a></span></center>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">The flamers got the same treatment my Chaos Warriors did when it came to basing, with an added bit of brass etching.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<br />
<center>
<span style="font-size: large;"><a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/132801835@N05/33022536752/in/album-72157678179472531/" title="041"><img alt="041" height="480" src="https://c1.staticflickr.com/4/3748/33022536752_97ce694b25_z.jpg" width="640" /></a></span></center>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<br />
<center>
<span style="font-size: large;"><a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/132801835@N05/33022537872/in/album-72157678179472531/" title="042"><img alt="042" height="480" src="https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/579/33022537872_beaeb61400_z.jpg" width="640" /></a></span></center>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<br />
<center>
<span style="font-size: large;"><a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/132801835@N05/33051304781/in/album-72157678179472531/" title="043"><img alt="043" height="480" src="https://c1.staticflickr.com/4/3719/33051304781_cc54d1dd25_z.jpg" width="640" /></a></span></center>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">The Screamers on the other hand were another thing entirely.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">Firstly; I hate flying basses and stands in general.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">While the later is kinda important, I decided to sack off the clear basses.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">Secondly; The flying basses are around 28/ 32mm. Not sure which.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Either way, far too small.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">I took this opportunity to upgrade them to bigger basses.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">This gave me some room to experiment too, which was awesome.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">I finally got to use the dremel!</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<br />
<center>
<span style="font-size: large;"><a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/132801835@N05/32796850720/in/album-72157678179472531/" title="044"><img alt="044" height="480" src="https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/770/32796850720_5a3de378e8_z.jpg" width="640" /></a></span></center>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">I decided to use slate to anchor the flight stands in and give some weight to the Screamer so they don't just fall over constantly.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<br />
<center>
<span style="font-size: large;"><a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/132801835@N05/33022540172/in/album-72157678179472531/" title="045"><img alt="045" height="480" src="https://c1.staticflickr.com/4/3917/33022540172_031d044717_z.jpg" width="640" /></a></span></center>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">Even with these big chunks of slate and the, now standard, basing scheme, they felt a little...empty.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">Luckily I had already been messing about with push molds and casting various bitz.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<br />
<center>
<span style="font-size: large;"><a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/132801835@N05/32796853310/in/album-72157678179472531/" title="046"><img alt="046" height="640" src="https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/681/32796853310_ce8330f431_z.jpg" width="480" /></a></span></center>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<br />
<center>
<span style="font-size: large;"><a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/132801835@N05/32333897834/in/album-72157678179472531/" title="047"><img alt="047" height="640" src="https://c1.staticflickr.com/4/3828/32333897834_eeb03d702d_z.jpg" width="480" /></a></span></center>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">They didn't turn out too good if I'm honest, however, they're perfect for basing!</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<br />
<center>
<span style="font-size: large;"><a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/132801835@N05/32796852860/in/album-72157678179472531/" title="048"><img alt="048" height="480" src="https://c1.staticflickr.com/4/3677/32796852860_72ce228d8a_z.jpg" width="640" /></a></span></center>

<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">I love that runic circle from Eldrad's base so much!</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">Anyway, I had to finish off the mortal contingent of my army too, so I built and based the Gorebeast chariot too.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">I wanted to make it more Tzeentch themed, so I stuck a icon of Tzeentch from the Chaos Space Marines sprue on one of the poles.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">I've got some more ideas for this thing, but they'll come later.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<br />
<center>
<span style="font-size: large;"><a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/132801835@N05/33022542412/in/album-72157678179472531/" title="054"><img alt="054" height="480" src="https://c1.staticflickr.com/3/2870/33022542412_04b74da2cf_z.jpg" width="640" /></a></span></center>

<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">All of these basses are going to get some crackle paint before they get undercoated and painted.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">That's it for now.</span><br />

Timeslip. Tzeentch Disciples part 5.<span style="font-size: large;">A few weeks ago I posted that I'd started painting my <a href="http://theunderhivehero.blogspot.co.uk/2017/02/120-exalted-tzeentch-disciples-part-3.html">Exalted Hero of Chaos (Tzeentch).</a></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">Well, he's done!</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">I know!!</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">I wanted to get him done to enter him in a local painting competition.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">So I set to my task and didn't stop...</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">I finished him a while ago, but I thought I'd wait until after they chose the winner.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">Enjoy.</span><br />

The silver ruin. Tzeentch Disciples part 4. <span style="font-size: large;">So I've done a lot of work on my Tzeentch Chaos army for Age of Sigmar.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">(Sorry 40k fans)</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">I can't remember if I said it, but I'll say it again; I'm basing my army around The Silver Tower...</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Or rather the ruins of it.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><i><br />
After the Gaunt Summoner's plans were foiled by a band of adventurers, the magic forces keeping The Silver Tower functioning dissipated.<br />
<br />
With the destruction of the Tower, the Gaunt Summoner called out across the realms of magic for allies.<br />
Mortal followers of Tzeentch flocked to an the daemonic avatar of their deity, while daemons were summoned into being to wage war his the Gaunt Summoners behalf.</i></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">That's it.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Silver Tower...but a bit fucked.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">So with that in mind I wrote up a 1k list (pitched battle is so much easier to organise)and set about building and basing the list (I'll post it in another post).</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">The Warriors got their basses done (minus the crackle paint, which will come later).</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<center>
<span style="font-size: large;"><a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/132801835@N05/33050864541/in/album-72157678179472531/" title="017"><img alt="017" height="480" src="https://c1.staticflickr.com/4/3870/33050864541_606c24b5ec_z.jpg" width="640" /></a></span></center>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">I've done some greenstuff on some of the basses (push molds of various bitz and pieces), as well as some patterns cut from thing plasticard to mimic the banding the Silver Tower boards have in the background.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">The rest is Cork and various grits of sand to represent rubble.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">As well as my own basses I've thrown in a few shattered dominion basses as they fit The Silver Tower theme really well.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>

<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">As well as the warriors, I built/ based all of the characters from the list.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">Exalted Hero:</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">I really wanted a base to mirror his pose; something heavily in the same direction he's pointing to give it a bit more gravitas, and with a bit of elevation to explain the billowing cape.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<center>
<span style="font-size: large;"><a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/132801835@N05/33050864231/in/album-72157678179472531/" title="029"><img alt="029" height="480" src="https://c1.staticflickr.com/4/3795/33050864231_bb5e703ac1_z.jpg" width="640" /></a></span></center>

<span style="font-size: large;"><a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/132801835@N05/33050865171/in/album-72157678179472531/" title="030"><img alt="030" height="480" src="https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/596/33050865171_37a40106f8_z.jpg" width="640" /></a></span></center>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">Chaos Sorcerer:</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">Given all of my characters are going to be slightly raised, I felt it was only fair this diminutive guy got a bit of a height boost too.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Also, he is kinda looking down, so the added height means the pose makes more sense.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<center>
<span style="font-size: large;"><a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/132801835@N05/33050864891/in/album-72157678179472531/" title="031"><img alt="031" height="480" src="https://c1.staticflickr.com/4/3820/33050864891_c6c9e29448_z.jpg" width="640" /></a></span></center>

<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">The green stuff on his back is a push mold from the Burning Chariot of Tzeetch's Disc.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">Gaunt Summoner/ Tzeentch Herald:</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">On foot;</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">I first started collecting Tzeentch for Age of Sigmar when the Generals Handbook came out.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">We we're running a campaign in store (the summer of war world wide campaign to be exact) and we were encouraged to collect an army for it.Back then trying to run a mono Tzeentch daemon list was doable, but terrible, so this guy was my Tzeentch Herald.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">Now I've given up on that idea, he's my Gaunt Summoner.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">The runic greenstuff is a push mold of Eldrad Ulthuan's base from Deathmask.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>

<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">Made from a Chaos Sorcerer lord model, some bitz from the burning chariot/ Tzeentch herald on Chariot and some green stuff tentacles to tie it in with the Horror aesthetic.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>

Plastic reinforcement. Sisters of Battle part 23.<span style="font-size: large;"><br />As an Armies of the Imperium fan, I obviously had to get the first Triuvirate.<br /><br />
Inquisition, Ad Mech and Sisters of Battle?<br />
yesplzkthnx<br /><br />
I set about building the Sisters first (I did actually build Grefax first, but ya'know)<br /><br />
They're a bit fiddly, especially Celestine.<br />
But I got there.<br /><br />
Here they are, with my marble style basses to go with them;<br /><br /><span rel="lightbox"><img alt="med_gallery_33843_5957_301826.jpg" class="bbc_img" src="http://image.bolterandchainsword.com/uploads/gallery/album_5957/med_gallery_33843_5957_301826.jpg" /></span><br /><br /><span rel="lightbox"><img alt="med_gallery_33843_5957_53681.jpg" class="bbc_img" src="http://image.bolterandchainsword.com/uploads/gallery/album_5957/med_gallery_33843_5957_53681.jpg" /></span><br /><br /><span rel="lightbox"><img alt="med_gallery_33843_5957_69780.jpg" class="bbc_img" src="http://image.bolterandchainsword.com/uploads/gallery/album_5957/med_gallery_33843_5957_69780.jpg" /></span><br /><br /><span rel="lightbox"><img alt="med_gallery_33843_5957_107010.jpg" class="bbc_img" src="http://image.bolterandchainsword.com/uploads/gallery/album_5957/med_gallery_33843_5957_107010.jpg" /></span><br /><br /><span rel="lightbox"><img alt="med_gallery_33843_5957_186606.jpg" class="bbc_img" src="http://image.bolterandchainsword.com/uploads/gallery/album_5957/med_gallery_33843_5957_186606.jpg" /></span><br /><br /><span rel="lightbox"><img alt="med_gallery_33843_5957_6238.jpg" class="bbc_img" src="http://image.bolterandchainsword.com/uploads/gallery/album_5957/med_gallery_33843_5957_6238.jpg" /></span><br /><br />
The eagle eyed of you will recognise that base from a previous post, <a href="http://theunderhivehero.blogspot.co.uk/2013/11/29-road-to-glory-that-never-seems-to.html">which can be found here!</a><br />
Yes, I canabalaised my old Celestine base for the new one.<br />
Fear not though, the old one will be getting a new base...I'm not abandoning her just yet!<br /><br />
All that's left is various girts of sand and cork dust to make the rubble and they're ready to be primed,<br /><br />
I am stuck in two minds weather to keep them in their original colours,
or to use something different that will tie them into my current Sisters
of Battle more.<br />
It'll be a good while before I paint them, so I've got time XD<br /></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">That's all for now.<br /><br />Peace!<br /><b>-<span style="color: #0b5394;">D</span><span style="color: #cc0000;">H</span>-</b></span>DarKHaZZl3http://www.blogger.com/profile/04149796728975211155noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2253978456465255034.post-11243893111028500192017-02-15T17:00:00.000-08:002017-02-15T17:00:02.278-08:00120. Exalted. Tzeentch Disciples part 3.<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">I've been plugging along with my Age of Sigmar Tzeentch chaos (still a mouthful) army.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">I kinda got carried away with the Exalted Hero of Chaos though XD</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">He's done irl, I'll upload the final pictures in a separate post though, but he is the 'last' Wip shots of him for y'all to enjoy.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;"><i>Those of you who follow me on <a href="https://www.instagram.com/darkhazzl3/">Instgram</a> will have already seen a few of these pictures (and some more besides).<br />
But what you get here is a bit more of an in depth write up on what I've done, how I did it and what the plan is moving forward.</i></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<center>
<span style="font-size: large;"><a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/132801835@N05/32052881724/in/album-72157678179472531/" title="008"><img alt="008" height="640" src="https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/383/32052881724_b3de419431_z.jpg" width="480" /></a></span></center>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">From the black undercoat, the whole model was painted dark blue (Necron Abyss) towards the bottom and dark purple (Liche/Xereus Purple & Chaos/Abbadon Black) towards the top.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">After that it was simply a case of stippling gradually lighter shades of Liche/Xereus Purple through to Warlock Purple/ Screamer Pink and then mixing Bleached Bone/Screaming Skull into to it for a more pastel look</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<center>
<span style="font-size: large;"><a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/132801835@N05/32854666956/in/album-72157678179472531/" title="009"><img alt="009" height="640" src="https://c1.staticflickr.com/6/5699/32854666956_bc82c48066_z.jpg" width="480" /></a></span></center>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">When appropriate (read as: guess) the figure was shaded with Leviathan Purple/ Druchi Violet, Asurmen Blue/ Drakenhof Nightshade and/ or Baal Red/ Carroburg Crimson (mainly the later for the bright parts, and the others for the darker parts)</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<center>
<span style="font-size: large;"><a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/132801835@N05/32854665796/in/album-72157678179472531/" title="010"><img alt="010" height="640" src="https://c1.staticflickr.com/4/3688/32854665796_2255f014c2_z.jpg" width="480" /></a></span></center>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">One I was happy (enough at any rate) it was a case of adding the 'Stars.'</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">This was done with an exceptionally light/ pastel pink and stippled on, with a few larger dots painted on.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">As the armour on this guy turned out a lot more purple than I'd planned, I decided to add the blue back in by painting the cape an exceptionally dark blue/ almost black highlighted blue.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">We'll come back to the rest of the details shortly.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<center>
<span style="font-size: large;"><a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/132801835@N05/32771566031/in/album-72157678179472531/" title="011"><img alt="011" height="640" src="https://c1.staticflickr.com/3/2424/32771566031_86dea95120_z.jpg" width="480" /></a></span></center>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">I wanted to tie the figure back into the rest of the army.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">While most of this will be done with the basing (something I've invested a lot of time into), I wanted their to be a presence on the rest of the figure.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">I started with the weapons; the disc on my burning chariot is a mix of silver, gold and metallic blue (something that I will post later/ is on my <a href="https://www.instagram.com/darkhazzl3/">instagram</a> if you're curious) </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">So I went with that scheme.</span><br />

<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">The base is where most of the cohesive elements in this army will come from.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">The Tzeentch mob will be an eclectic mix of colours, and this will be the main constant in the army.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">As I want to use the models I've built for The Silver Tower boardgame, I decided to theme all of my basses around that.</span><br />

<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">The rest of the details are pretty standard;</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Bones are bone coloured, Leather is brown, Steel is silver and the ornaments are gold.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">The fur is blue grey to tie it back into the bluish tint that's evident in most colours in this paintjob</span><br />

<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">I've been back and forth in my mind about how to to the basses.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">I originally wanted white marble, but with bone coloured Sister's it doesn't exactly stand out.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">So I then went with black, however using grey for marble effect is actually surprising tricky in comparison to green/ turquoise.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">So yeah, there you go!</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>

(Spartan) Colour Coded. Tzeentch Disciples part 2.<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">One of the most fundamental questions when starting a new army is; 'how do I paint them?'</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">Do you go for an established scheme, or do you try something new?</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">With 40k I find I'm a lot more reserved; I like to either use something pre-existing (like my Salamaders), or keep it simple (like my Sisters of Battle).</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">With this Tzeentch army I thought I be a bit more bold and experiment a little.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">After thinking on the issue a while, these are the schemes I came up with.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<center>
<span style="font-size: large;"><a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/132801835@N05/32675616631/in/album-72157678179472531/" title="003"><img alt="003" height="640" src="https://c1.staticflickr.com/3/2694/32675616631_991cc722f4_z.jpg" width="640" /></a></span>
</center>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">I'm a fan of all of them (some more than others, but I thought I'd take a moment to speak on each of them, to give you an idea of my thought process.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;"><u><b>Teal/ Turquoise</b></u></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<center>
<span style="font-size: large;"><a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/132801835@N05/32645546822/in/album-72157678179472531/" title="004"><img alt="004" height="640" src="https://c1.staticflickr.com/3/2583/32645546822_4f3e46cdfe_z.jpg" width="480" /></a></span></center>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">I thought a slightly bastardised version of the new Thousands Sons scheme might be nice.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">I'm not a fan of this scheme on actual Thousands Sons for lore reasons, but it does look nice, and is quite striking.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;"><b><u>Blue.</u></b></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<center>
<span style="font-size: large;"><a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/132801835@N05/32675616541/in/album-72157678179472531/" title="005"><img alt="005" height="640" src="https://c1.staticflickr.com/3/2375/32675616541_ee77fe2975_z.jpg" width="480" /></a></span></center>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">Not only the classic Thousands Sons colour, but also half of the generic Tzeentch colours (Blue and Pink).</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">A little darker, which suits chaos, and a lot easier to play on high contrasts (orange and pink mainly).</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;"><u><b>Green & Silver.</b></u></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<center>
<span style="font-size: large;"><a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/132801835@N05/32675617661/in/album-72157678179472531/" title="006"><img alt="006" height="640" src="https://c1.staticflickr.com/4/3912/32675617661_071b37eb71_z.jpg" width="480" /></a></span></center>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">This one may seem like an odd colour for Tzeentch, but let me fill you in on my reasoning.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Despite how nice Blue's look, I am kinda sick of seeing those schemes.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">They are EVERYWHERE.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">So I wanted to try something different.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">The colour concept behind this scheme came form the Adrian Smith Tzeentch sorcerer artwork in the 3.5 Chaos codex</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><a href="http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/warhammer40k/images/f/f1/Chaos_sorcerer_by_adrian_smith.JPG/revision/latest?cb=20130212092903" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/warhammer40k/images/f/f1/Chaos_sorcerer_by_adrian_smith.JPG/revision/latest?cb=20130212092903" height="320" width="236" /></a></span></div>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">I kinda like this scheme, but I don't feel as if it has enough of a Tzeentch feel to it, and I certainly don't think it does Adrian's artwork justice.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;"><u><b>Nebula/ Blue and Fuschia.</b></u></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<center>
<span style="font-size: large;"><a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/132801835@N05/32645545832/in/album-72157678179472531/" title="007"><img alt="007" height="640" src="https://c1.staticflickr.com/3/2632/32645545832_3285e302d0_z.jpg" width="480" /></a></span></center>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">This one is actually inspired by myself (See )</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Messing with space and time is kinda Tzeentch's deal, so I feel the stray nebula encapsulates that feeling rather well.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Blue and pinky purple are exceptionally Tzeentchy colours too.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">This scheme is easily my favorite, and the one I'll be using for this army.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">My one worry is consistency; while it'll be kinda cool that each model will look slightly different, I am worried that I wont be able to replicate this scheme consistently in term sof quality.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">I reckon I'ma fuck it up a lot...</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Ah well...</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">That's all for now guys.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Substantial building progress is on the way soon though (I've been doing a lot of basing XD)</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">So stay tuned for more updates.</span><br />

A Road to Glory. The Ecclesiarchy. Sisters of Battle part 21.<span style="font-size: large;">Another update!!<br />I know.<br /><br />It is a bit of a cheat, considering I've done a fair bit, and am just rationing out updates XD<br /><br />Ah well.<br />
After basecoating all of my Battle Sisters I was pretty burnt out on
them, so I decided to do some other painting bits and pieces as a
'break.'<br /><br />
I moved on to something Sisters of Battle related at the very least.<br /><br /><br />So, you guys may or may not know, when I built my army initially it was designed to have Uriah Jacobs in my list. <br />(here is a link to the whole built army back then - <a href="http://theunderhivehero.blogspot.co.uk/2013/11/29-road-to-glory-that-never-seems-to.html">A road to glory that never seems to catch a break</a>)</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">
</span><span style="font-size: large;"><br />So as my break from Sisters of Battle, I decided to paint up Jacobs with a squad of Imperial Priests.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br />
As with Jacobs, my priests are a mix of Empire/ Free People Flagellants
from WFB/AoS, Necromunda redemptionists and Imperial guard bits.<br /><br /><br /><span rel="lightbox"><img alt="med_gallery_33843_5957_5983.jpg" class="bbc_img" src="http://image.bolterandchainsword.com/uploads/gallery/album_5957/med_gallery_33843_5957_5983.jpg" /></span><br /><br /><br /><span rel="lightbox"><img alt="med_gallery_33843_5957_180193.jpg" class="bbc_img" src="http://image.bolterandchainsword.com/uploads/gallery/album_5957/med_gallery_33843_5957_180193.jpg" /></span><br /><br />
A bit of a close up so you can see what they're like (also I really like how I painted the hair on this one)<br /><br /><span rel="lightbox"><img alt="med_gallery_33843_5957_40603.jpg" class="bbc_img" src="http://image.bolterandchainsword.com/uploads/gallery/album_5957/med_gallery_33843_5957_40603.jpg" /></span></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><span rel="lightbox"><br /></span><br />The scheme may look like a generic red priest scheme, but is actually based on some real life stuff, most notably Jacobs.<br />
Cookie to whoever can guess what it is from <img alt="^_^" class="bbc_emoticon" src="http://image.bolterandchainsword.com//public/style_emoticons/default/happy.png" />.<br /><br />
As always Constructive comments, criticism, feedback/ general related conversation welcome.<br /><br /><b>-<span style="color: #0b5394;">D</span><span style="color: #cc0000;">H</span>-</b></span>DarKHaZZl3http://www.blogger.com/profile/04149796728975211155noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2253978456465255034.post-36691249697930815062017-02-04T18:29:00.000-08:002017-02-06T06:34:50.969-08:00116. The call of Chaos in the Age of Sigmar. Tzeentch Disciples part 1.<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">Yes.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">Another project. Don't judge me.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">I've had mixed feelings toward Age of Sigmar and Warhammer Fantasy Battle in the past.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">I love the themeing, but I just didn't enjoy playing WFB.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">When AoS was released, I was kinda relieved, but not sold on it's open style of play.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Over time though I saw the merits, but because of how games are set up I could never get round to playing it; being able to take what you like is a fantastic idea, however, it doesn't give me a goal to aim towards, and that is something I personally need.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">When the season of war started and brought the generals handbook (and a 'points' system) I finally had that barrier removed.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">I started collecting Tzeentch Daemons. There was, however, one flaw.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">The rules for them we're terrible!</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">With a huge focus on magic and summoning (of which is incredibly limited in matched play), they just didn't have any real options.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">That was, until a few weeks ago.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">The battletomb 'Disciples of Tzeench,' was released, and with it, new rules and a swathe of new models.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">I was immediately invested in the army.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">It had options, meaningful choices, battalion warscrolls, allegiance abilities...</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">It was finally enjoyable to collect and play with them.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<b><i><span style="font-size: large;">TL:DR</span></i></b><br />
<i><span style="font-size: large;">AoS got good for me because of new Tzeentch book.</span></i><br />
<i><span style="font-size: large;">So I've started an army for it.</span></i><br />

A Road to Glory. Butter Biscuit Basecoat. Sister of Battle part 20.<span style="font-size: large;">I know, I know, it has been a while.<br /><br />
Being made redundant a while back really hit me hard emotionally and financially.<br />
Lucky fr me the cover work I spoke of has carried me through just about,
but November, December and January where not comfortable for me.<br /><br />
I did a bit of hobbying here and there, but didn't really feel any joy
from it... in fairness I didn't feel a great deal of joy form anything.<br /><br />
Over January though my mood has improved, and I've focused on making as much progress I can, in the areas under my control<br /><br />
One of those areas is my hobby.<br /><br /><br />
Sometime in November I set about the task of basecoating all of my Sisters of Battle.<br /><br />
This was a pretty long and arduous process, especially considering<br />
a ) I'm a terribly slow painter<br />
and<br />
b ) I hate batch painting<br />
Purples, Greens, Browns and Blacks (for the black parts and in anticipation of the metal parts)<br /><br />
I'm happy to report though that they are all done... or hey were, until I acquired some more XD<br />
( I couldn't turn down the new canonness and plastic Celestine!)<br /><br /><span rel="lightbox"><img alt="med_gallery_33843_5957_154146.jpg" class="bbc_img" src="http://image.bolterandchainsword.com/uploads/gallery/album_5957/med_gallery_33843_5957_154146.jpg" /></span><br /><br />
That's a lot of girls!<br /><br />
Here is what they look like up close<br /><br /><br /><span rel="lightbox"><img alt="med_gallery_33843_5957_66460.jpg" class="bbc_img" src="http://image.bolterandchainsword.com/uploads/gallery/album_5957/med_gallery_33843_5957_66460.jpg" /></span><br /><br />
It took me until late December to finish these basecoats, and then I
took a break from them and did some work on some other stuff (which I
have subsequently completed, so expect pictures soon)<br /><br />
I'm going to try and forge ahead.<br />
I imagine I'll get distracted at some point though, so no promises.<br /><br />
Thanks for reading<br /><br />
