Half a month eh?
Well, a lot has happened. I am officially 'unemployed' now after being made redundant (something I will post on my main blog about at some point).
I have some agency work to fall back on, but times may be tough in the coming months... we'll have to wait and see.
Good job I have enough hobby to last me until the end of time right?
So, speaking of hobby, let's move on with some.
A while back I managed to get myself to Warhammer World in Nottingham.
If you are unaware of this magical location, it is GW's head office and as such has a Forge World shop.
I got some bits and bobs; namely, 5 multi metlas (the resin under slung heresy ones) for my Salamanders.

The cleaning up wasn't too bad... a good deal of flash between the melta barrels, but nothing a good, sharp knife couldn't fix.

This was the main problem.
The power coils are straight and to not be.
Bending resin is not one of my all time favorite activities.
I always feel like I'm going to bend it too far, or it wont be warm enough and then break or I'll melt it with a hair dryer.
With a little effort and some patience I managed to make a start.

Have done the rest, will post with pictures of each individual
devastator, and again once I've added details and green stuffed some
stuff.
The Power armoured contingent of the Salamanders is almost complete!!
Until next time.
-DH-
This post will pretty much a carbon copy of my Bolter & Chainsword post, so...
Anyway.
I've been doing some more hobby. Huzzah.
But to be honest, it has slowed down a little (holiday, buying more hobby, other stuff).
I'm coming up on my imminent unemployment, and my productivity is dropping off to be replaced with existential dread haha.
I digress.
You came here to see things.
I've been working primarily on getting the Space Marine armour built.
So First off we have the drop pods.

I would have finished these.... but I wanted some brass etching (which I forgot to buy on my last trip to Warhammer World
)
And I needed to know how to paint them in stages.
Now that I'm aware of the process, and once I get myself some etchings, these guys are good to go!
Next up is the Vindicators.
These are my old vindicators.
There was nothing 'wrong' with them per-se, but I just wanted to make
them more secure, get a few mold lines I'd missed, and fill in some gaps

I decided to do the sisters ones at the same time, as I never got round to them before either.
But yeah.
I now have the Multi Melta's I need, as well as some extra Salamanders
shoulder pads, which should be enough to finish off the Devastators.
next step is the Dreadnought, so... look out for that one!
Anyway, that's all for now.
I'm hoping I get back the hobby bug once I've sorted through my horde of new things haha!
Peaceout.
-DH-
And we're back to the Salamanders!
Expect me to yo-yo between several projects...I just can't seem to keep my focus on any one at a time.
So, today we have the assault marines that I need for my Skyhammer annihilator force.

2 units of 7. Each with a flamer and Eviscerator
Headless, I know.
I'm working on it!
The army is getting there.
Here is all the infantry so far;

A few bit to add here and there, and I also need like 5 more multi meltas XD
They will have to wait until my trip to forge world for sure.
That's all for now, but expect a new post sooner rather than later!
Peace!
-DH-Peace!
We're back on the 40k train baby!!
I know it's been a while, and I'm sorry.
There was a good stretch where I just lost enthusiasm for the hobby
again... couple this with moving all of my hobby to another room
(nothing kills a hobby groove like not knowing where anything is
anymore), and painting for work and it just dried up.
I've recently been made redundant too (I'll talk more about this on the Science of selling yourself short soon).
As of the 1st of October I'm officially unemployed, so I've had to look for work.
Weirdly though, this kinda kick started my need to hobby again XD
So, let's see what I've been up to eh?
Post hobby move, I decided to get all of my bits out and get to work...
I didn't quite know what I wanted to do though, then I saw this guy,
still BNIB sitting on top of the pile, and he just had to have the
Salamander treatment.

Nothing drastic, but enough to start.
There is more coming... and soon.
So stay tuned, and refresh your memories by flicking back through the previous posts.
Thanks for checking in, and I'll post again soon!
-DH-
....well, kinda.
What Salamanders army would be complete without Vulkan He'Stan.
However, I'm not a big fan of the official one, it just doesn't fit with how he looks in my head.
So years ago I decided to make my own, but I never got round to uploading him.
But here he is!

It's an Emperors Champion body, with a Mk 4 helmet (the 1 you got in
the Black Templar kit as the Heresy range and Calth were not out yet), a
plastic grey knight Nemesis force halberd (which replaced the metal one
he used to have), and an apothracery gauntlet for the crazy hand
flamer.... the barrel fell off while I was photographing him.
Small update for today.
we'll see what I can dig out for the next one!
Peace
-DH-
So I'm back.
Not such a big gap this time eh?
I've actually done a fair whack of Sallies, it's just getting round to updating my various stuff.
I've been super busy with other things too.
If you wan to know what they are, check out my main blog!
But that isn't why you're here (or shouldn't be anyway), so on with the show?
I wrote up a list for my Salamanders, I can't remember if I mentioned it, but essentially
it revolves around the Skyhammer Annihilation force formation.
Which they are conveniently releasing in a book this weekend.
Long story short Devastators, Drop pods and Assault marines, and due to the unique rules of the formation it pays to have a lot of devastators with bolters...
So out of the mass of Marines I had to build, that is where I started.
Now, I want a fair amount of drakescale cloaks and unique armour and arms in ym army.
At the same time I didn't just want to spam corsair cloaks, as awesome as they are
So more pillaging of the Fyrelayers then!
This more armoured scale cloak is actually a Magmadroth leg piece!
The front side needs some greenstuff work to make it look like an actual
cloak form the front, but I think it looks pretty good considering!
Once again, thanks to a friend for the bitz!
Here is the Sergeant with his squad;
The guy with the thunder hammer will be used as the tactical squad sergeant should I even use them in that role instead.
(He's sneakily an exact copy of my Deathwatch Salamander from before Overkill was a thing)
Now, as the Skyhammer specifies two squads of Devastators...

More bolters! In this case it is captain pointy hands who is the understudy.
So yeah, you may be asking 'where are the heavy weapons?'
Well this is for a few reasons.
A ) I'm using the 'x' point heavy weapon idea...
basically my list just says 4 times 'XX point' heavy weapons.
This allows me to change it as I see fit.
This means...
B ) I need to magnatise each heavy weapon devastator.
This is time consuming, and also means that...
C ) I need 8 of each heavy weapons that costs 'xx' points, but mainly, I
need 8 Multi Meltas, as that is what I'll probably run being
Salamanders.
So yeah.
8 Multi Meltas...
That's all from The Underhive for now!
Like I said, I've been busy with other stuff... if you'd like to know what check out my main blog - http://darkhazzl3.blogspot.com
But in short;
Mice & Mysitcs and new amiibo stuff - Main Blog
Twitch Streams of Hearthstone, Rocket League and Chronicle: Runescape Legends
YouTube highlight reels, and other interesting videos (most of which are currently being edited).
So yeah, if you want a head up on what I'm doing and when, follow me on Twitter, or Instagram if you like spoiler pictures and junk.
That's it for now, so catch you next time hivers!
-DH-
So while I am still stuck in the indecisiveness of Imperial Knight painting, and the slow crawl to having all of my Sisters infantry base coated (haven't even begun the tanks either) I needed to something to fill my hobby time.
Time for the resurrection of my original 40k army; The Space Marines.
For years I'd left them to one side, not sure what to do with them.
A few year ago, I decided upon Salamanders to Collect, with another Space MArine army (The Marines Malevolent) being used as a 'house army' for visiting players.
These projects have languished in obscurity... untouched, and unloved.... but slowly gathering resources for a time when they would finally resurface.
That time has come!
Resurrected from the ashes of Space Marine armies past, this is a project based around re purposing my old Space Marine army.
breaking it down and building it back up better than before.
This was a concept model, using bits form various kits, including forge world and spell crow stuff.
I've since done quite a lot more, and will post about those soon.
Here's the production line shot.
You can make out a few more models here and there... I'll post some more of them soon if I don't get the urge to paint the knight!
Anyway, until then, stay classy Underhivers!
