Hey Underhivers!
I know I haven't been very consistent recently, but I have been working on other projects (as always).
If you'd like to chock those out head to The science of selling yourself short for more info!
Back to it.
I hit a hobby wall in the shape of too many boardgames with miniatures that are un built and unpainted.
So I've made it my mission to get these out of the way.
The problem with this is that building miniatures as they come in the box bores the life out of me...
So far I have built all of the Miniatures from Assasinorium Execution Force, and it nearly killed me.
So going into my next task; The Silver Tower, I've decided to try and make things a little more interesting for myself, without converting any of the models.
The game is fairly varied in all fairness.
unlike Execution force, there isn't 15 of essentially the same figure... the most of one type is 8.
But I still want to make them 'my own.'
This starts from the ground... no up, just the ground.
Most of the tile sin Silver Tower are this cracked turquoise stuff, with gold banding.
The plan is pretty simple; copy it onto the basses.
To do this I've used the Games Workshop palette pads to created the crazy shapes that are all over the board tiles.
Obviously, these will be painted gold, and any 'raised' areas will be added in using shading and highlighting.
As for the cracked floor, I decided to cheat...kinda.
Agrellan earth; a self crackling paint from the citadel paint range.
All I ave to do now is paint it!
I'll be using Stegadon Scale Green, Sotek Green and Temple Guard Blue to do the job.
Before that though I have a ton more basses to do...
That's all for now!
Keep you eyes peeled for more soon.

Really long title, but you know.
Words, words, words.
Since finishing the Princess I thought I'd crack on with the rest fo the gang.
After all, with how few models a Necromunda gang has I might actually finish this project!
Speaking of finish, here are a couple more of the gang done!
Shotgun ganger;
I tried to base her colour palette on Zoe from firefly.
I mean, she's a badass lady from the far future in a lot of leather and armed with a shotgun.
Next up we have a Juve;

ORANGE AND BLUE. ILLUMINATI CONFIRMED.
In all seriousness, I just wanted to do pastel orange on something.
It suits the 80's/90's feel.
Very happy with the way the juve turned out.
I wasn't sold on the face to start with, but now I think she looks like she has a bit of sass about her.
I'm working on more, but my pace has started to slow down again.
Heavy painting times at work of late I guess.
Anyway, that's all for today.
More soonish hopefully.
Until then fuggers.

.
Throwing it all the way back!
The last time I updated the Escher Gang was back in June 2014!
But this Throwback is actually a tribute to how this blog first started.
My very first post back in September 2011 was about my Escher Gang, and the very reason this blog was created.
'It Came From The Underhive' was my very first solo blog project.
So I thought I'd rekindle this project and show it some of my now crazy productive hobby love!
And what better way than focusing on one of the very reaons I started this blog.... the epicenter of my Escher Gang.
The 'promiscuous princess.'
Back in my second ever post I knew she was going to be the leader of my gang, hence the title of the post (check it out here - http://theunderhivehero.blogspot.co.uk/2011/09/urlhttpwww.html).
Sure enough my 3rd post was about her, and you can check her out in all her metal glory by following the link in that post...
But enough flashbacks.... let's get to that update... that sweet, sweet update!
She's come a long way from her bare metal days!
But here she is, the daughter of an imperial noble who ran away to the underhive, taking her father baroque plasma pistol with her to face the underhive alone.
Her connections to power, though diminished, all but guaranteeing her a fats route up the ranks of the local street gangs, and her pistol did the rest.
Now embroiled in the criminal activities of the Escher gang (still with no name after all these years) she leads the charge through the underhive.
A MODEL DONE!? I KNOW!?!
Another one down!
You should also check out my main blog; The science of selling yourself short.
I've been posting some board game miniatures on there!
There is a massive update tomorrow too so keep your eye on that.
Anyway.
Nostalgia trip complete. Throwback threw.
I'll see you next time.
The Underhive Hero, out!
-DH-
....well, kinda.
What Salamanders army would be complete without Vulkan He'Stan.
However, I'm not a big fan of the official one, it just doesn't fit with how he looks in my head.
So years ago I decided to make my own, but I never got round to uploading him.
But here he is!

It's an Emperors Champion body, with a Mk 4 helmet (the 1 you got in
the Black Templar kit as the Heresy range and Calth were not out yet), a
plastic grey knight Nemesis force halberd (which replaced the metal one
he used to have), and an apothracery gauntlet for the crazy hand
flamer.... the barrel fell off while I was photographing him.
Small update for today.
we'll see what I can dig out for the next one!
Peace
-DH-
So I'm back.
Not such a big gap this time eh?
I've actually done a fair whack of Sallies, it's just getting round to updating my various stuff.
I've been super busy with other things too.
If you wan to know what they are, check out my main blog!
But that isn't why you're here (or shouldn't be anyway), so on with the show?
I wrote up a list for my Salamanders, I can't remember if I mentioned it, but essentially
it revolves around the Skyhammer Annihilation force formation.
Which they are conveniently releasing in a book this weekend.
Long story short Devastators, Drop pods and Assault marines, and due to the unique rules of the formation it pays to have a lot of devastators with bolters...
So out of the mass of Marines I had to build, that is where I started.
Now, I want a fair amount of drakescale cloaks and unique armour and arms in ym army.
At the same time I didn't just want to spam corsair cloaks, as awesome as they are
So more pillaging of the Fyrelayers then!
This more armoured scale cloak is actually a Magmadroth leg piece!
The front side needs some greenstuff work to make it look like an actual
cloak form the front, but I think it looks pretty good considering!
Once again, thanks to a friend for the bitz!
Here is the Sergeant with his squad;
The guy with the thunder hammer will be used as the tactical squad sergeant should I even use them in that role instead.
(He's sneakily an exact copy of my Deathwatch Salamander from before Overkill was a thing)
Now, as the Skyhammer specifies two squads of Devastators...

More bolters! In this case it is captain pointy hands who is the understudy.
So yeah, you may be asking 'where are the heavy weapons?'
Well this is for a few reasons.
A ) I'm using the 'x' point heavy weapon idea...
basically my list just says 4 times 'XX point' heavy weapons.
This allows me to change it as I see fit.
This means...
B ) I need to magnatise each heavy weapon devastator.
This is time consuming, and also means that...
C ) I need 8 of each heavy weapons that costs 'xx' points, but mainly, I
need 8 Multi Meltas, as that is what I'll probably run being
Salamanders.
So yeah.
8 Multi Meltas...
That's all from The Underhive for now!
Like I said, I've been busy with other stuff... if you'd like to know what check out my main blog - http://darkhazzl3.blogspot.com
But in short;
Mice & Mysitcs and new amiibo stuff - Main Blog
Twitch Streams of Hearthstone, Rocket League and Chronicle: Runescape Legends
YouTube highlight reels, and other interesting videos (most of which are currently being edited).
So yeah, if you want a head up on what I'm doing and when, follow me on Twitter, or Instagram if you like spoiler pictures and junk.
That's it for now, so catch you next time hivers!
